Wines More than the Bouquet…

Jamaica is known for its fine rums, liquors and beers; however, fine wines from famous vineyards and vintners are imported from around the world.

And, while good quality wines are avail-able at retailers and on supermarket shelves, two entities—the Wine Shop in Southdale Plaza and Bin 26 at Devon House are specialists in the promotion of fine wines. Both entities also offer special wine tastings.

Members of the Wine Shop and their friends are invited, on a quarterly basis, to tasting sessions, which feature wines from special regions…“featuring blends of different grape varieties and showcas-ing the character of the vineyards.”

Bin 26 offers “over 300 international wines by the bottle and a satisfying selec-tion by the glass.” They invite wine afi-cionados to come “sip, savour and celebrate.” Their website features wines; and their space is available for private dinners and receptions.
